This EMS Week, we celebrate more than just a tradition. We celebrate a community of dedicated professionals who bring calm to chaos, care to crisis, and hope to the most difficult moments.
On behalf of the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians, we extend our deepest gratitude to every EMS clinician, educator, medical director, employer, and organization working tirelessly to protect and serve. Your expertise, resilience, and compassion are the foundation of emergency care in our nation, our territories, and our military.
This year, we also proudly recognize a very special milestone: the 50th Anniversary of the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians (NAEMT). For five decades, NAEMT has been a tireless advocate for EMS professionals, supporting you through education, advocacy, and advancement of the profession. We are grateful for the collaboration and shared mission we have enjoyed over the years, and we look forward to many more decades of partnership and progress together.
At the National Registry, we remain steadfast in our purpose: to support and uphold the excellence of EMS clinicians. While the world and the field of EMS continue to evolve, one thing remains unchanged and that is our commitment to you, and to being the Nation’s Emergency Medical Services Certification Organization.
To all who answer the call, thank you! You are where emergency care begins, and the impact you make is immeasurable. As we celebrate this week and these remarkable anniversaries, know that your service and sacrifice do not go unnoticed.
Happy EMS Week, and congratulations to NAEMT on 50 years of extraordinary service.
With gratitude,
Bill Seifarth CEO and Executive Director

About the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians
The National Registry, established in 1970 as a non-profit organization, is the Nation’s Emergency Medical Services Certification organization. The National Registry is accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA), the accreditation body of the Institute for Credentialing Excellence. The National Registry maintains NCCA accreditation for each of the four certification programs: Emergency Medical Responder (NREMR), Emergency Medical Technician (NREMT), Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (NRAEMT), and Paramedic (NRP). Credentialing protects the public, assures consumers that professionals have met standards of practice, advances the EMS profession, and establishes standards of professional knowledge, skills, and practice. Additional information is available at NREMT.org and LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and Reddit.
