The National Registry of EMTs Invites Your Feedback on Resolution 25-17
(Columbus, Ohio) – The Board of Directors of the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (National Registry) recently approved a resolution for public comment. Resolution 25-17 (Creation of EMS Advisory Group) is now available for a 60-day public comment period.

Summary of Resolution 25-17:

The National Registry’s Board of Directors proposes creating an EMS Advisory Group of 10–15 representatives from across the EMS community. Chaired by the Immediate Past Chair or another Executive Committee member if needed, the group would meet at least twice a year to provide insights and recommendations to the Board.

Its purpose is to strengthen communication with the EMS community and gather external perspectives. The group is advisory only; all governance and decision-making authority remains with the Board.

“We see this Advisory Group as an important bridge between the Board and the EMS community,” said Bill Seifarth, executive director and CEO of the National Registry. “It will allow us to hear diverse perspectives, understand real-world impacts, and make more informed decisions that benefit the entire EMS profession.”

The 60-day public comment period ends on January 16, 2026.

About the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians
The National Registry, established in 1970 as a non-profit organization, is the Nation’s Emergency Medical Services Certification organization. The National Registry is accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA), the accreditation body of the Institute for Credentialing Excellence. The National Registry maintains NCCA accreditation for each of the four certification programs: Emergency Medical Responder (NREMR), Emergency Medical Technician (NREMT), Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (NRAEMT), and Paramedic (NRP). Credentialing protects the public, assures consumers that professionals have met standards of practice, advances the EMS profession, and establishes standards of professional knowledge, skills, and practice.
